Autocross Zevenhuizen Hemelvaartsdag 2022
I've been following all kinds of car and motorcycle racing for years. But for some reason, I'd never been to an autocross event. So, on Ascension Day 2022, I went to Zevenhuizen in South Holland for an afternoon of photography. By the end of the day, I was covered in dust... A lot had happened in between.
The heaviest stock cars participating were reminiscent of the stock cars I'd seen in Indianapolis three years ago, complete with roaring V8s. (That was also the Thursday before the Indy 500, coincidentally.)
There were also plenty of scrap cars, Beetles, buggies, and so on driving around. And when things went wrong, they sometimes went terribly wrong. But afterward, it was always a matter of straightening them out and driving on, or towing them. Fortunately, the roll cages did their job.
Here too, there was fierce competition in short sessions. Sometimes large fields, sometimes small groups, but always action, and lots of dust, especially if you're in the corners where the action happens.
Constant action and a cozy rural atmosphere, all right in the middle of the big cities. I'd definitely go again. Below is the album. Interested in one of the photos, or looking for a photo of a specific participant? Please contact us.
