Concertfotografie van Ramon in artwork live opnamen The Pineapple Thief
Over six months ago, I suddenly received an email from England. Someone from a record label mentioned that they and the band The Pineapple Thief were interested in a photo I'd taken at one of their concerts in January . The label had started producing a live album for the band, and they wanted to use my photo in the artwork. After some emailing back and forth, it even turned into multiple photos. I also had the opportunity to photograph the band again a while back when they were in Zoetermeer promoting their upcoming live release. This time, however, I was allowed in as a press photographer and could bring the big guns, instead of the compact camera I'd used during the previous concert. It was also nice that I got to briefly meet the band afterward.
This coming Friday, October 6th, the live release will finally be released. The concert film is called "Where We Stood," named after one of the songs from the latest album, Your Wilderness. This week, I received all my copies of all the releases. My photos can be found in the booklet of the CD/DVD combo, the inside of the Blu-ray, in the large book of the special edition, and also on the download receipt for the MP3s. It's really cool to see your photos and name reflected in the work of one of the bands I love listening to. The concert film turned out really well and also gives a good representation of the tight and energetic shows the band puts on. By the way, I'm not done taking concert photos either; this definitely leaves me wanting more! ;-)
