Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort 2017
To round off my short holiday and kick off September on a high note, I visited the Historic Grand Prix in Zandvoort again this year. With the perfect weather, it was certainly no hardship. We had plenty of time to look around at the old Formula 1 and Le Mans cars in the garages and paddock. There were also some great demonstrations with heroes like Jan Lammers and Gijs van Lennep at the wheel. One disappointment, however, was the serious crash during the Formula 1 race when Frenchman David Ferrer crashed hard in the Arie Luijendijk corner with his March 701 (once driven by Henri Pescarolo). It wasn't a pretty sight for us from the pit roof. I hope he makes a good recovery. Of course, photos were taken of all the action that day; see them below.
