Nürburgring NLS 10-7-2021
After almost a year without racing action, I finally made it back to a race on July 10th. It was my first time experiencing a race at the Nürburgring Nordschleiffe. A wonderful place to be when the weather cooperates. Earlier that week, during a holiday in the Eifel, we'd briefly explored the track during a tourist drive. Visitors could drive their own cars around the track. But it was pouring down, and I got soaked while taking some photos. But on Saturday during the race, the weather was beautiful, allowing me to explore the woods and the circuit. The beautiful hilly landscape, the forests, and the numerous excellent photo spots made it a successful trip for me. A large field of around 140 cars, divided into three starting groups, participated. From impressive GT3s to the familiar Opel Manta with a foxtail antenna. From Porsches to a Dacia, it was a colorful crowd. It was also great to see the spectators along the Nordschleiffe enjoying a race without any fuss. No tests, masks, or other extravagant things. Just bring a folding chair and relax in the woods. As far as I'm concerned, this won't be the last time I'll attend a race at the ring!
