Riverside, live in Uden 2017
I've been listening to the Polish band Riverside regularly for years. I'd also wanted to see them live for a while. But after releasing a fantastic album in 2015, guitarist Piotr Grudziński sadly passed away unexpectedly in early 2016. I thought I wouldn't be able to see them live again. But this year they're back on tour and have recruited guitarist Maciej Meller. So we traveled to Uden to attend their concert at the Pul. It was a special concert. It started with a moment of silence for the victims of the Manchester attack. Then, during the concert, they played both older and newer songs. Singer and bassist Mariusz Duda took the audience on a journey through the band's history and everything they'd been through. The holes in his jersey represented the scars left by such a difficult year as 2016. Fortunately, despite everything, the band had a great time and delivered a tight show. The whole thing was filmed, so who knows, I might even appear in a concert video. In any case, I've captured it all for posterity; here are the photos:
