Spa Classic 2025
During the press conference preceding the 6 Hours of Spa, the Peter Auto Spa Classic 2025, scheduled to take place two weeks later, was briefly mentioned. And indeed, I too would return to the Ardennes circuit two weeks later.
In the paddock and pits, the public could admire various classic cars that would later also be driven on the track.
One of the stars was the Porsche 917K in Gulf colours.
The day started dry, but around 12:30 a light rain began. Eventually, the light rain stopped, and it was downpour for more or less the rest of the day.
Well-wrapped in my rain gear and camera covers, I braved the downpours to capture the action. Cars from various decades were on display in various classes.
Just like two years ago, the Endurance Racing Legends reunion was a reunion with Le Mans cars from decades past. I saw the car Jan Lammers demoed during my very first visit to the Zandvoort circuit. And there were plenty of familiar faces as well.
Towards the end of the afternoon the track was really flooded, but surprisingly enough the safety cars and red flags were not too bad.
It’s impressive how they can still go all out on such a wet track, for example in the big Group C cars.
After returning home, I could recover from all the violence and dry myself and all the equipment. Two days later, the moisture was still coming off my gear. But that always results in beautiful images. Check them out below. And are you looking for photos, prints, or would you like to collaborate in the future? Get in touch !
