Spa Six Hours 2024
At the end of September, I was back in Spa Francorchamps. Perhaps for the final race weekend of my racing season? At least to capture the Spa Six Hours , just like last year. The weather wasn't ideal. I had to put on and take off my rain suit several times, and pack my cameras. But despite this, the familiar atmosphere of historic racing was still present. Fans, mechanics, marshals, and competitors were able to fully admire the cars and put them through their paces around the track.
Just before the Masters Racing Legends F1 race, a heavy downpour broke out. So the cars returned to the pits. But after a few minutes of waiting, they came back out for some exciting track action. Ultimately, victory went to Matthew Wrigley.
Just like last year, Nico Verdonck started as polesitter followed by a horde of other Ford GT40s.
An E-Type three-wheeler and another one that damaged its face, not everything went as planned.
This year, as night fell, I once again enjoyed the action in the dark. Extra lighting always creates fun effects.
The victory ultimately went to Scuderia Filippinetti, driven by Andre Lotterer and Dario and Marino Franchitti. A fantastic result for these big names.
