Steven Wilson, Ancienne Belgique, Brussel 09-03-2018
Progressive rock legend Steven Wilson delivered another spectacular show at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on Friday, March 9th. The band was in the mood; after a few performances with what they described as a cemetery-like audience, they were now going all out. Just like before, there was a fantastic light show. For several songs, a projection curtain was used between the band and the audience, creating spectacular effects. But besides the songs where Steven let his hair down, the more subdued numbers also made a real impression, such as the Porcupine Tree classic "Heartattack in a Layby" with its harmonies. Steven's new love, his 1963 Fender Telecaster, was also fully utilized for songs from the latest album, "To the Bone," giving the songs a tight, raw edge. Despite some pointless grumbling from other fans about other shows before the show started, this was still a fantastic evening. Here are the photos.
