NK Rallycross Valkenswaard 19-8-2023
On August 19th, it was time to capture a motorsport discipline I hadn't photographed before. I was assigned to work at Eurocircuit Valkenswaard during the combined race weekend of the Dutch Rallycross Championship and the German Championship, DRX.
After collecting my press vest and receiving an explanation of the circuit and the guidelines, I was ready to get started. More than 100 cars, divided into various classes, appeared at the starting line: from 2CV ducks to buggies, from vintage road cars to full-blooded rally cars.
During the various heats, I also explored the track to familiarize myself with it and find different angles. As you can see in the photos, especially during the on-track sessions, the dust sometimes flies around your ears.
There was plenty of action. It didn't take long for the first car to flip over. While the atmosphere in the paddock was very relaxed, the track was fierce.
It was a lot of fun and challenging to photograph this form of motorsport. Be sure to check out the rest of the photos. But to see more of the action, you really have to go to Valkenswaard and see it for yourself!
Please contact me if you would like a print or a high-resolution file of any of the photos.
